The World Body Painting Festival 2009

Every year the world’s leading body artists gather at the World Body Painting Festival to compete for the coveted title of World Champion in one of 3 body painting categories:

As in previous years the 2009 competition saw over 100 artists from more than forty countries paint their models in a series of themes chosen by the championship organisers.
In 2007 Carolyn was crowned World Champion in the 'Brush and Sponge' category. In 2009 Carolyn decided to compete in the 'Special Effects' category where artists were given the theme “Spirituality Beyond the Visible Eye” and had to create a unique design to impress a panel of experienced international judges. Points were awarded according to the originality of the artists interpretation of the theme, their painting techniques, the quality of the special effects used, the choice of colours and the degree of complexity of realising their design.
The 2009 competition was held on the 17th - 19th July and after many weeks making all the individual plaster casts and latex moulds, Carolyn, along with her assistant Paula Southern and model Barry Bloomfield, wowed the judges to win the title of 'World Body Painting Champion Special Effects 2009'.
In 2009 Carolyn became the first artist in the history of the competition to have won in two categories.
Carolyn has been using Mehron products since 2005 and created her winning
